Today is the 130th anniversary of the Apparition of Our Lady at Knock in County Mayo, Ireland. On a rainy evening, August 21,1879, Our Lady appeared accompanied by St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist; behind them was an altar with a cross, and a Lamb with adoring angels. Fifteen people of all ages witnessed the silent apparition for two hours as they prayed Our Lady's Rosary. Although the witnesses were soaked from the rain, the vision was untouched by the pouring rain.

Father Mark Kirby is at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Knock enjoying the celebrations surrounding the Feast. He recently shared his thoughts about Our Lady of Knock's relationship with her priest sons and the importance of Knock as a place of pilgrimage for priests.
Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, Eternal High Priest, Mother of all priests, and our Mother, help us respond generously to the Holy Spirit's request, through the voice of His Church, to offer up to God Eucharistic adoration for priests. Amen.
