Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate: Another Step Toward Christ Crucified

... on the vigil of the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary, four postulants took their next step toward Christ Crucified; now entering into the year of the novitiate. From now on JOHN will be known as - Friar John Mary of Our Lady of Grace, MARK - Friar Francis Arsenius Mary of Our Lady of Victory, BEN - Friar James Ezekiel Mary of the Interior Sufferings of Jesus in His Passion, DAVID - Friar Camillo Mary of the Passion.

... on the feast of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary we have our annual professions where our novices make first profession and those in temporary vows renew theirs. Fr. Angelo relates this generous sacrifice of their lives (to the service of God) to the calling mentioned by Paul in the first reading and the calling of Mary and Joseph to the exulted role of heading the Holy Family that is related in the Gospel. He also relates this to the sacrifices of St Maximilian( one of the patrons of our order) who pursued heroic efforts to spread the faith and how difficulties when conformed to Christ becomes effective to the conversion of others. Ave Maria!

Three young men--Friar Isaac Joseph Mary, Friar Joseph Paul Mary, and Friar Gabriel Marc Mary-- make their first vows, giving their lives in total Consecration to Our Lady, in poverty, chastity, and obedience; a gift for God and for the Church -- a gift from Mary, a gift for Mary.

Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, Eternal High Priest, Mother of all priests and our Mother, help us respond generously to the Holy Spirit's request, through the voice of His Church, to offer up to God Eucharistic adoration for priests. Amen.
